Check in was easy It was a very clean room They’re nice and updated

The bathroom was clean, nice to use It was very quiet for the most part I had to come to the Monterey area because of an emergency and I’m very glad I picked this hotel the price point for everything provided was great Parking was a little cramped but we were lucky to have free parking in a parking lot with security cameras on the property so it made you feel safer I plan on staying here again when I return to the area shortly I was very happy overall with the pacific inn and I’m very picky over hotels and places I stay

Karen Okumura

The rooms were good; nice and clean The problem is with noise The building overall feels like it has no soundproofing

You can hear water running through the pipes, floors creaking and doors closing If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I do not recommend staying here Also there is not enough parking We returned after midnight and had to park on the street

Ashley Buenger

We stayed here just one night Check in was fairly simple and price was pretty cheap for the area We arrived super late so just needed the room for a quick shower and then to sleep

The room appeared clean with some minor cosmetic issues (paint chipping on walls) The room lacked enough towels, but we were able to go get more from the lobby Can’t say if the WiFi worked because we didn’t attempt to use it at all Main issues we ran into were noise and parking We were on the lower level and we could hear noise above us and on both sides of us We could hear stomping, talking, etc all night We could also hear traffic and planes Needless to say, we barely slept There was also not enough parking and we had to walk a distance at 2am which was not ideal

I always read reviews in anything I purchase, whether they are things, services or hotels The rating on this hotel is high and the the reviews were accurateThe staff were very professional but warm and welcoming

You have the ability to choose your room and they will provide you with the floor planThe hotel was very clean, the lobby, hallway and your roomThe location of the hotel is great! You can walk to the Fisherman’s Wharf (about a mile one way) and 25 miles to the Cannery RowFood at the restaurant Pacific Grille) was good

Naresh

Hotel is in good location, easy access to near by attractions Rooms are okay, clean, a bit old and nothing special Parking is 15$, continental breakfast (very limited choices, just bread and cereal) is 10$, menu breakfast is 16$

Customer service is poor, no special preferences to gold member in terms of the accommodation, upgrades, connecting rooms etc even after putting a special request before coming in I understand rooms are sold out, but I requested connecting room 2 days before coming in, and they didn’t put any effort in accommodating that I would suggest to check-in in hilton honors app and select rooms of your choice upfront and don’t rely on staff for any special accommodations

This is a nice hotel I went here and was satisfied with my experience It’s located pretty close to downtown Monterey and it comes with a free parking garage

The room I stayed in had a bathroom with two beds (which where comfy), a TV, and a desk The room also had a balcony, which was nice The rooms were clean I gave this hotel five stars because it has nice rooms near downtown Monterey

Brooke E

Amazing stay! I could not get over the location and staff The location is within walking distance to a few fabulous restaurants and shops, this was perfect as we could leave our car in the free parking garage during our stay and walk around The room was very very clean and bright, I was able to open the patio door to let in a nice breeze in the evening

Every time I entered the lobby I was greeted by the staff who were kind and made a few great recommendations I will definitely be back!

Renee Jimenez

Just stayed this weekend because my husband went on a fishing trip Hotel was clean, food area kept clean and neat, parking safe, front desk helpful, friendly and professional Hotel room very clean

The hotel follows CDC COVID guidelines and all employees had on face mask Hotels are high risk but this hotel keeps guest safe by following guidelines When we are in the area i will stay again

This hotel is what it says it is – small, unassuming, basic Fine for a 1-2 night stay if you aren’t planning on spending much time in the room! They have a nice little water feature in the front where you can sit and read The owners are available at all times and are very friendly

Room is pretty basic but as other reviewers notate: Extremely clean Small table with 2 chairs, bed, a rack for clothes and a good sized bathroom Bed is comfortable, sheets are a bit thin so I would ask for some extra blankets before you head to bed The AC unit has a running fan option which is great for light sleepers for white noise :)At the time of writing, no breakfast was offered

selwocc

We have been staying here at this motel now for over 40 years It has always remained clean, comfortable, quiet and well maintained Just less than 15 minutes drive and you are in down town Carmel by the sea! No traffic and noise which comes with your stay in Carmel, this is peaceful, private, quiet and accommodating

I’m now friends with the manager and his family! Great place to stay – and I am picky about what I like! There simply is no other choice as far as we are concerned!

Gordon Wood

Very clean The rooms are updated The beds are comfortable

The office staff are very friendly and kind The owners keep the grounds very neat and clean It’s conveniently located to the aquarium/ cannery row and the 17 mile scenic drive and other places of interest while visiting the Monterey areaBring your own coffee maker for your room unless you’re willing to drive down the hwy to purchase a cup Just sayingI’d definitely stay here again

Kat Valenti

I absolutely loved this hotel for our trip! I studied a LOT of past reviews to get a sense of what to expect and I’m glad I did: The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable If you can upgrade, I recommend it Our room fit a very comfortable bed and a stunning bathroom and it was PERFECT for me and my partner

There wasn’t a fridge which I expected, so I brought an ice chest which carried us over There is no AC, but you don’t need AC at the beach! If you are okay with noise (which we were), you can leave the windows open and feel cool just by that Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were just as great I appreciate all the help, and will return here next time we are in Monterey It was an easy walk downtown or to Cannery Road 10/10

Caribou John

We spent 2 nights in the 1110 and it is a great hotel The staff are very helpful and communicative The breakfast was a highlight of the stay, we tried the pancakes, the scrambled eggs and the musli They were delicious

We also had dinner and drinks on the roof bar, the food was great again and competitive with other places The hotel is definitely on the way up and can only get better in my opinion Would definitely book again

Jesse Suarez

My first time in Monterey and I could not have been happier Staying at Hotel 1110 was perfect, easy to get to and located in a great area full of things to do and see The room was cozy and gave off a really good vibe, I felt so at home staying here

The people were just fantastic and the food was better than most hotels I’ve stayed at in the past Be sure to have a drink at the bar with others staying there and you’ll also enjoy great conversations

We had a great stay, the rooms were very clean and we even had a balcony with our room! The included breakfast is adequate, but nothing to ride to ride home about The front desk lady was also so helpful & answered any questions I had Parking was also easy and we never had trouble finding a spot

I would say if you’re going to spend time in Carmel as well, this is the perfect central location to it

Erika Vanecek

We enjoyed staying here with two small kids Rooms are good sized and clean – ours had two Queens, a futon, a desk and chair and a small table with two chairs, and a balcony I loved the fact that there is a place for the kids to sit and eat their snacks or breakfast in the room

Continental breakfast was perfect for us – waffles, toast, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, etc No air conditioning but it was the cool season; the space heater worked well to keep us warm Two minute walk to Friendly Plaza or the Library for kids to blow off steam Will be back!

Dianne Hansen

Very nice older hotel Our bathroom was extremely clean From everyone I asked, no one in Monterey has air conditioning nor did our room

It did have a hard-working heater and a lovely fireplace which they gave us a duraflame log each night which was perfect Breakfast was very basic but we appreciated having something to eat before starting our day I enjoyed the shared back deck off our room overlooking a babbling Brook It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay

We were so impressed by this hotel The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating The room was super clean and comfortable

We had a king size bed with a sofa bed for our kids Both beds were comfortable The hotel is within walking distance from coffee, shopping, beaches and tourist destinations Overall, a great place to stay Very very happy!

Aminah Kazi

The front desk lady was very helpful and cheery, which gave us a good first impression of the hotel The beds were a bit on the soft and squishy side, but that’s fine The rooms and the bathtub were nice and clean

For breakfast the buffet was open, which was nice The bagels were very hard and dry though But the yogurt and biscuits made up for it Overall breakfast was good We enjoyed our stay:)

Brenna Irwin

Staff was friendly, funny and gave amazing information on the areaThe hotel itself is clean, breakfast options were greatOnly complaint is the front door to my room had a gap between the frame and it brought in quite a lot of cold air

AMAZING location Hungry at 2 AM? Walk the 3 seconds up the street to the 7-11 Want dinner? Walk another 3 seconds in the other direction and you’ll be met by multiple restaurants The aquarium is also just a 10 minute walkI felt extremely safe and secure, even at night! If I ever come back, I will absolutely stay here again

This was my first time staying at this hotel and I loved it I’ve come to Monterey for my birthday for the past few years (excluding 2020 and 2021) and have never found a place I likesThis hotel is super close to the beach, the hot tub is very nice after a day at the beach

The shower is a little small and tight, but it works for rinsing off sand and showering The beds are comfortable but a little squeakyAll in all, check in/out was quick and easy, the staff were nice, and the room was comfortable and cute Definitely booking this place for the next time I’m in town

Irene

Nice neighborhood to stay, close access to the beach and many restaurants Beautiful view of the pond or lake There’s rental for paddleboats

It’s a walking distance to the beach and Fisherman’s wharf The lodge has a swimming pool, hot tub and cute garden with seats This room has a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, coffee machine, a full-sized refrigerator and stove-tops Also have plates, bowls and utensils It’s nice if you want to cook your own meal They did allow us to check in slightly early There’s room service but we didn’t need it The bathroom could need some more remodeling It traps lots of moisture from the shower The carpet needs replaced It’s so old The living room area is nice with the hardwood floor but it could overall be nicer

Clean comfy rooms, excellent service and perfect, centralized location! Staff is very friendly and love dogs Service is excellent and helpful to answer questions about the area The outside dining for their restaurant is super nice looking with the fire

I stayed here for 2 nights (Sat & Sun) Nice room with modern interior, comfortable bed, and all the basic amenities It’s in a really convenient location off Del Monte yet very quiet at night

I had to get up very early for the Big Sur International Marathon, so I was thankful to have a good sleep beforehand Check-in and check-out was easy Staff are not on-site during the morning hours, so you just leave your key cards in the drop-box at checkout Good experience overall, and happy with my stay

Jason Sattler

I really enjoyed my stay here The rooms were clean; what more can you ask for My major issue is I was told there would be no cleaning service yet they did

In the process they threw out the lid to my tervis tumbler It’s less than $10 but it’s just the hassle and the fact that they came in and did that when they said they weren’t going to As much as that irritated me, the folks that run this seem to be good people just trying to do the best they can so I would stay there again

Kristen Kirksey

Fine for one night if you’re on a budget, but next time, I’ll probably spend $50 more for a better hotel Location is good Felt like a safe part of town

Nearby several big box stores and chain restaurants (Target, Lucky grocery store, McDonalds, Wing Stop, etc) About 10 minutes away from Cannery Row and Downtown Monterey Check in was quick, but I had to check in at a window because the lobby was locked I arrived midday Don’t know if this is a covid precaution, but it made me feel unwelcome The room was clean and updated I still think it could have used a deep clean, like shampooing the carpets and wiping down walls, headboards, etc All of the metalware in the bathroom (toilet paper holder, soap dispensers) was completely rusted, which made me uncomfortable touching it The room was spacious Had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which I appreciated It had a little balcony which was cute, though the view was the highway and Costco Comfy bed Other guests were respectful, not loud at all Overall, it was fine, but I probably won’t be back

The customer service was excellent, friendly, helpful, and politely professional No laundry but she offered to dry our swimsuits in their dryer Room was small but very clean

The bed was extra firm (hard) and the shower was the low point (Very small walk in tile shower) Breakfast was very well prepared and kept stocked (Eggs bacon tater tots oatmeal waffles fresh fruit) the hot tub was a plus

Millard Fillmore

Old, but clean and very well maintained Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating Decent hot breakfast

Heated pool Bike/walking path across street Near a nice mall Bathroom had no exhaust vent, had a small window one could open a bit for ventilation Pricey, but perhaps average for area Can see the bay from second floor No exercise room nor guest laundry room

Püppi

Room was neat and clean and check-in was quick and the receptionist very friendly We had a downstairs room and the ceiling is very thin and therefore you could hear every movement in the upstairs room Bathroom is okay, but no ventilation other than a window which isn’t ideal for a downstairs room next to another building

Wifi is appalling as it constantly drops

He was surprised and really liked it We definitely enjoyed the night In the morning when I was about to check out I was greeted with could be the manager or owner and he was very friendly We will definitely stay again Thank you so much❤️

We stayed at the El Castell for three nights while visiting Monterey The motel’s exterior appearance was good All the common areas, paint and landscaping were neat

The parking is a little tight, but adequate Check-in was easy and quick, as we had used a third party booking agent for the reservation and there were no issues Our room was fairly clean, though the floor could have been better swept Other than that, towels and bedding were clean an nice enough We found it to be quiet and we slept well on the comfortable beds There is a pool on the property, which is mostly indoors Just one wall is open to a patio The pool was heated to 82 degrees We spent some time in the pool and we’re often the only ones in the pool The pool is showing it age, but other than that, was fine This is a motel we would stay at again They did refresh our room on the second day of our stay Which was nice A good place for a good price

Bigg Hurt (Shogun)

5 star service, 5 star heated pool for kids and adults to enjoy and 5 star notability for an honest business As I was leaving from a very pleasant stay, my wife left her shampoo (not that she needed it because they have a quite exquisite and fruity line of bathing products) and one of the managers / owners ran out to let us know Thank you sir! The only downside is the area however they have to be the best Hotel on the block! Will come again!

Pricey for a Comfort Inn Very nice & spacious double queen room There was a fridge and microwave which was a plus

There was also a spacious patio with 2 lounge chairs Lobby is tiny where you check in Front desk not that helpful with wifi issues Limited housing staff so couldn’t have items brought to our room Parking is pretty tight if you have a SUV Property is relaxing and clean I will definitely go back

At check-in, there is only a desk front No lobby So if you arrive a little before 3pm and need to use a restroom

You’ll need to go across the street to the airport restaurant and bar (front desk person informed me of this)My room was very clean I had the single queen with patio 2nd floor I slept well You get 4 pillows with various firmness, so you can pick which one works best for your sleep comfort I was hugging them allComplimentary breakfast is from 7 to 10am You’ll get a paper bag of pre-packed items I got a bottled water, 1 granola bar, 1 microwaveable hot pocketOverall this place is fine If you just want a clean place in a good location, no extra frills here at all I would stay here again as it is central to a lot of places

Beautiful hotel! Well maintained and clean with friendly and helpful staff Our room was very comfortable and good sized Furniture was comfy including the king bed

Lovely views of the ocean from our room, and it was walking distance to shopping and several restaurants Free breakfast was quite tasty and included cold and hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, danish rolls, etc Our stay was very enjoyable!

We are finishing up a 20 day west coast trip We stayed at Marriott’s the entire time – of varying quality and brand This SpringHill was lovely and about mid way through our trip

The staff was friendly and the rooms were big, clean and updated (hotel looks new) The hotel is a bit off the beaten path from Monterey but a good location for an overnight and nearby many box shops as well

Some confusion at check in was really upsetting especially with a cranky toddler on your hands… check in was at 3… we arrived at 4 and was told a 45 min wait… hotel front desk said our room wasn’t ready I said well I’ll take a complete refund and I’ll get outta here… 5 minutes later and what do you know our hotel was “ready??? “ seemed suspicious I’ll sitck to Monterey bay inn

Overall, OK for the money Room was clean and the bed was comfortable Looks like the rooms have been through a recent renovation and some others are currently being renovated

I stayed in room 102 Great spot on the first floor next to the parking lot The noise from the upstairs room was very noticeable and you can hear whatever they were doing up there (yoga?) Not sure why it was necessary to rearrange furniture at 2am but OK whatever No free breakfast here as COVID rules are still in place For whatever reason my TV wasn’t working well It would freak out once an hour but after I turned it off/on, it was OK again

Bed was beyond firm, was like sleeping on the floor only higher up For a nonsmoking room I was surprised to find cigarette burns on the bedspread I was told there would be coffee at 8am

At 8:05 the office was closed Rang for service and they told me come back at 8;30 Came back and still no coffee I’m just saying if you want coffee you’ll need to bring it with you or be prepared to go get it somewhere else

If you are looking for a nice ocean view, don’t stay here All you hear is very loud road noise, no ocean waves even at night You have the view of a little lake/pond beyond the busy road below and a tiny bit of the ocean in the distance

For $350 per night on a Monday, it’s not worth the money The shower curtain does not fully contain the water so you will have an additional pond on the floor Oh, and don’t slide the pocket door all the way closed in the bathroom or you won’t get out It gets stuck I wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy the “view” but it was just too noisy and I don’t mean crashing waves And the coffee in the room was stale and nastyagain at $350 per nightnoThe breakfast was good but again the coffee not representative of what one would expect for $350 per night The customer service was impeccable and the room was clean and comfortable but I can get that at a Hampton for way less money I’m thankful for the excellent customer service which is non-existent these days as the front desk rep took us to see the potential upgrade before upgrading It was a downgrade for me unless I had a few more people with me and needed two bedrooms The view was non-existent

Visiting the aquarium and expected to pay up for weekend rates because of the area Experienced pros and cons hereBooked two separate 2 double beds with pullout sofa for party of 10

All double beds were terrible and sunk in like a deep valley in the middle One suite didn’t have the security latch to stop door from opening in, while the other did Pullout sofa is fine for kids, not adults Weak water pressure for showers but the water was hot Loved the extra air purifiers in rooms inlight of the pandemic but don’t know how well maintained they were as far as changing out filters Ac worked wellFree parking and breakfast buffet as expected from Embassy Suites Big, open parking lot is a plus Staff bussing tables and dishes were awesome and quick at cleaning tables and clearing dishes They deserve a raise Plenty of food at buffet consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, apple, and orange Coffee drinkers in my group all said the Starbucks branded coffee was weak and watery Love the Minute Maid juice machine, especially the passion fruit juice Breakfast buffet seating is limited with our group size and avoid 8-9 am if you want a seat even if you have a smaller party Made to order omelettes, eggs and pancakes was a long wait with 12 people in front of me Both cooks were great and got all of the orders correct Management needs to provide more help with the rush It wasn’t worth the wait as my party had to wait for me to finish eatingOn side note, Hotel staff should either tell guests or have signs that show buffet setup has 2 serving lines Everybody was lining up on inside line with the bread facing the seating area but there was another serving line with the dry cereal and hot oatmeal that was completely empty I happened upon it while wandering around after my party had already got food and sat down to eat

Update: I’ve been here for over two weeks I haven’t seen the homeless issue again since the manager dealt with it That’s good enough for me

Really enjoyed my stay We were here for our work and anniversary Happy memories made Adding a star for management dealing with the homeless issue************Original ReviewPros: I’m currently staying here Mostly, it is great The customer service at the front desk is top of the line Excellent buffet breakfast also with omelets and avocado toast (certain days), and fresh pancakes made to order The chef, Jose, goes the extra mile to get the omelet perfect for me The rooms are nice They have chromecast so we can watch our channels and recordings from home From some rooms one can enjoy the ocean viewCons: Last night, a homeless person parked their basket between the two sets of glass doors and he was sitting in the main area and employees were permitting it We walked in and I started gagging and gagging from the stench I have a very sensitive stomach to bad smells He’s the same guy who looks into our vehicles in the parking lot There are a few other homeless who hang around the front entrance and parking lot, too Very unsafe for women or children to be alone I am very disappointed this is permitted I want to feel safe here and not gag when I walk in the front door
