Very impressed with Sunrise Inn Exceptional clean and comfortable beds Convenient to everything in town

The trail is just across the street We purchased groceries and enjoyed breakfast in front of the fireplace Best of all it was quiet Thank you for letting us check in early after our flight was delayed 9 hours flying into Seattle at 3am

Julia Sleeper

Review is not about the hotel as I haven’t stayed but the customer service The cancellation for full refund deadline was today at 1am and I reached out 10 hours after that to let them know that I had a positive COVID test today and they still refused to give me a full refund I know it’s “policy” but its a mere few hours after the deadline and it’s a serious reason not to go

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service here

Pros: bed was comfortable Staff was friendly and helpful Reasonably priced

Cons: sheets were dirty or stained & I couldn’t tell which Staff brought new sheets Walls & ceiling paper thin You get what you pay forFor the price & how little time we were in the room, it suited our needs

Mark Marcell

The rooms are fine They’re certainly not fancy but you know that when you when you see how reasonable the rates are (Under $230 total for 2 nights in July) Some of the earlier reviews commented about noise from upstairs, less than sanitary conditions and light from the parking lot disturbing their sleep, we encountered no excess noise and perfectly sanitary room conditions, although the shower/tub was extremely slow to drain

As for the amount of light in the room, I was able to find my way to the bathroom at 2am without having to turn on any lights so room darkening curtains would be a welcome addition for most It did not, however , interfere with our sleep We would not hesitate to stay here again ❤

Renee Nungester

This quaint motel surprised me! Very clean large rooms with basic but very functional amenities The staff was friendly and made my son feel comfortable The hot chocolate provided in the office was a special treat for him:) The park right behind the motel was perfect too! Less than 10 seconds walking distance

If I could give this property 10 stars I would Only negative was there were a couple nights of other guests being loud and disruptive The one night I had to call the office this issue was dealt with immediately! Itwouldn’t deter me from staying there again I can’t say enough good things

Becky Purser

The hotel is lovely; it’s feels new, crisp, and clean The colors and decor are very well done Bedding was comfortable

Just be aware, our room was very small-just barely enough room to walk around the bed-and according to our bill, we had a “deluxe king suite” It was in no way a suite, just a tiny room with a closet area that had a fridge and microwaveThe desk clerk that checked us in was very friendly and efficient No one was on duty when we left and the front door was locked during “off hours” so after you drop your key in the slot, you can’t get back in the buildingI would happily stay here again and recommend it

Lou Z.

Very good place to stay in Anacortes Nice new facility I would suggest getting a room with 2 queen beds even if you’re a traveling couple, they are a bit more roomy than the King rooms, at least the rooms we had, one of each

The hotel is between a neighborhood area and a dental office that’s on the main dragVery quiet and we had a view of the marina/water, cascade mountainsWonderful family that owns/runs it, super friendly! You can also walk to a donut shop and carry out Walkable to marina area and a nice park with a nice playground We also found the beds and pillows very comfortable!

I am a regular business traveler (Hilton Diamond member) and I would not recommend this hotel for a business trip My co-worker and I checked in on Monday and told the desk clerk at that time that we were going to need to head back to Seattle 1 day early due to some changes in our business schedule We asked specifically if we would be charged for the 1 night that we would not be staying at the hotel

He said he would have to check with the manager There was no follow-up and we mistakenly assumed that we would not be charged I have regularly dropped a night from other business trips (with 24 hour notice) at Marriott and Hilton properties and it has never been charged to my bill On Wednesday night before we were to checkout, my co-worker asked the clerk for our bill and discovered that we were being charged for 4 nights instead of 3 (even though we notified the hotel over 72 hours prior of our plans to check out early) The hotel policy states: “your reservation may be cancelled without penalty if you cancel 72 hours before the check-in date If you cancel within 72 hours before the checkin date, you will be charged for the full amount” In my opinion, we did not “cancel” our reservation, as we told them up front we planned to stay 3 nights and not 4 And the front desk clerk should have known the hotel policy and should have communicated to us that we would be charged for the entire stay I called the hotel manager, and she was not willing to budge on the issue We will not be back and we will make sure that our business partner in the area ( a very large industry ) understands the effort that we went to to resolve this issue and how poorly management handled our business

had some concern going in about possible road noise and/or noise from other occupantsnever once did I hear anything from another roomand since the town basically shuts down between 7 and 9, there was virtually no road-noise to be hadThe cookies that they leave for the guests are out-of-this-world fantasticbreakfasts are fantasticoverall just a very memorable and relaxing stay Love this place

Jacob

This place is amazing The inn is very quaint and well decorated We stayed in the Captains Quarters

I recommend this suite if you’re staying a few days It is very spacious! Jessica the owner is an amazing baker and leaves cookies for you every day And they are delicious!!! Also the mornings are pleasant since you have breakfast and yes you guessed it, Jessica the owner makes you breakfast Her breakfast is plentiful and very good She’s also very nice and had great conversations with her The grounds are super nice with outdoor seating and heaters They even provide blankets if it’s a little cold out It is located in a very great spot for traveling in/out but may be a bit noisy due to the proximity of the road The road noise didn’t really bother us though You can tell the owner is really passionate about what she does She made our short stay very special We would give 10 stars if we could

Steve

Usually when you book in advance like 2 weeks out, you would think that you would get a better rate… I booked at $17910 before tax almost 2 weeks before my arrival date, but when I checked their rates on my check-in date, the same room was listed at $13000

What a joke Also, this place is extremely noisy Paper thin walls so you can hear everything the weird next door people are saying and doing at 2am None of the doors have the door closer calibrated so all the doors are constantly slamming shut when you are trying to sleep The water heater broke and so there was no hot water on one of the nights and one of the guest told me they were still selling their rooms without mentioning there is no hot water When we called the front desk to ask what was happening with the hot water, they didn’t bother answering the phone They were pretty rude in general The gym never had any towels available, so you have to get them from the pool At least have some decent coffee but no that’s asking too much I would never recommend or come back to this place

Vladislav Vancák

We only stayed in the hotel for one night, and overall the experience was quite positive – the room was (by my standards) very large The beds were OK, a bit squeaky in places The shower was nice, but the door handle was very loose and will definitely come off in the upcoming days

Unfortunately, we found some hair in the room lobby and in the bathroom After we complained, the front desk lady gave us a vacuum and we had to clean the floor ourselves However, given the price tag for this place I’d still recommend this hotel – yes, it’s not the most modern or fancy, but it’s still a decent place for a fair price

Jack Otto

Booked a room here for my mother in law who was getting treatment at the hospital Super clean hotel and it’s relatively new Hot breakfast every morning

Fitness room and indoor pool as well I wished I was staying here Super friendly staff too If you are looking for a hotel in the Mount Vernon area be sure to check this hotel out!

Blue Waters

I travel for a living; I spend an average of 200+ nights/year in hotels I do stay at higher end hotels usually Here are my two cents: The staff is welcoming and professional

Very quiet place The cleanliness, the attention to detail, the lighting throughout the whole building is by far the best I have seen in a long time, in any hotel, anywhere! Everything is simple and everything works! No over – complicated wall thermostats; a simple on/off switch and a +/- for warmer or colder on the unit itself Done! The same is true in the shower: One faucet, left – warmer / right – colder Done! The Keurig coffee maker in the rooms is a nice touch The hotel is very well priced and does not try to be what it is not Terrific job! Thank you to the whole team

J Lowe

Check-InChecking in was super simple and they had our room ready before checkin time The front desk staff was super friendly and made even checked in on us to make sure our room was to our satisfactionRoomThe room was super clean

The bed made me forget I wasn’t at home it was very comfortable The shower water pressure was amazing and strong The room coffee was delicious! In the evening we were able to get fresh coffee in the lobby and complimentary cookies!LocationThere is a Safeway close by and the ferry terminals are within 5 miles (not walking distance but very close to the hotel) We felt safe at this hotel and for a family who tries to stay at the Marriott or Hilton, I would stay at the Marina Inn in a heart beat!

Just Me

Overall, the word that comes to mind to describe the Marina Inn is “adequate” The motel in general was very clean and the staff was friendly and professional The rooms were a little on the small side, but adequate

The breakfast room was also a bit small, but adequate, but you may have to wait for others to leave before you can find a seat Breakfast fare was the standard bagels and muffins along with toaster waffles My only complaint is the parking; the stalls are quite narrow so don’t expect to open a car door to retrieve a suitcase, especially if the neighboring vehicle isn’t perfectly straight in the parking spot

My husband and I love The Heron Inn and Day Spa! Alvin and Lola(his cute dog) are the very best every time we visit The rooms are always spotless and you can tell staff here take it seriously and work really hard to provide the best for everyoneWe love hanging out at the fireplace and enjoying coffee and tea before we go to bed

Breakfast is healthy, and fresh and I’m not sure if we book it for the wonderful rooms and people or for the breakfast Thank you so much everyone at The Heron!

kelsey thompson

The room was clean and the inn itself is accommodating and quiet The bed was pretty uncomfortable but I feel like the beds at hotels and inns are rarely idealI’m putting 3 stars mostly due to mine and my spouses spa experience

We paid for 2 different packages and were not impressed by what we received I got a mini facial and a 60 minute massage and he received the head to toe package My facial was probably the saddest facial experience I’ve ever had She cleansed my face and put a sheet mask on it and called it a day The facial was supposed to be 30 minutes but most of that I sat there with a sheet mask on My spouse got the head to toe which is supposed to include a scalp massage and the massage therapist spent maybe 3 minutes on his scalpThe inn is cute and we love the town but will forgo the spa experience

Sasha Wallace

We went here for our honeymoon in July From the first moment, Alvin was solicitous, kind, and knowledgeable He moved us to a bigger bed – without us even asking – and even printed out restaurant menus for us when we were searching for seafood (his two recommendations, Nell Thorn & La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib, were delicious!) The room (21) was spacious, comfortable, had a fridge, had adjustable window unit for AC and a rotating fan, and was clean

It wasn’t too noisy despite being on the second floor Breakfast was tasty – scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, coffee, and English muffins, with fruit and yogurt Parking was easy and free Everything was within walking distance and there was even a cherry tree outside our window I highly recommend this slow-paced, friendly slice of tranquility Thank you Alvin and Kam for your hospitality!

We stayed in a cozy cabin

which was just that, a cozy cabin Our daughter and son-in-law stayed in the king suite, which was charming and very spacious, but they said lacked a few expected amenities ie: lovely writing desk, but no paper or pen lolThe staff was very motivated towards making our stay as comfortable as possible, so, overall a good value and a very nice accommodation 👍

Bennita Durrenberger

So my mom and dad just checked out of here They didn’t even stay their one night The room was advertised as a king room with a jacuzzi tub, this being their first time and a date weekend they figured it would be great

They were wrong They arrived to find that the tub was slightly above the size of an average tub and the beds were hard as rocks and not a king size When my mom went to inquire about why the jacuzzi was so small and why the bed was smaller then advertised she was told she was wrong Again when my mom inquired about a manager she was told that the establishment was recently bought out and the new manager was never on site To the extent that the front desk didn’t even know her name My parents resigned to stay as when they asked to be moved to different accommodations they were told they would have to pay the cost of their orgional reservations plus the cost of the new room My parents returned to their room and decided to be okay with it until no tv remote of towels could be found d in their room This place is false advertising I have no doubt it used to be great but not anymore

Stayed one night a while back, room was clean and had no unusual smells Bed was comfortable, but the best part was their hot breakfast Not many places have started that back up and I miss it, the food was typical for hotel breakfast, but tagged better because I missed it

Staff was friendly and helpfulI have 4 stars because there was noise from kids and other rooms Thin walls appear to be the new way to save a dollar on building cost, but other than the nose it was a good stay Good enough that I’m staying again this weekend

Pet friendly which was a big deal for my stay and they made sure my pup was as welcomed as we were Rooms were very clean, spoke with housekeeping outside of our room and they were so polite and helpful to our needs! The breakfast was great bonus and my only issue is with other pet owners, clean up after your pets! We will be back soon and will definitely make this our place to stay!

They have a nice clean smell that they pump through the air ducts, so it smells pleasant and clean everywhere Rooms are basic, but clean Found a to go box of food in the back top of the refrigerator that wasn’t ours, so I have to deduct a little for that

The pool was nice, but small and a little cold and the hot tub was nice, but more like a “very warm” tub and the jets seemed to actually make it feel slightly less warm The three coffee carafes that were still out in the lobby in the evening we’re all empty, except one that was one cup from empty and seemed to be left over from the morning There were no other beverages offered in the lobby except water from a drinking fountain Overall nice, but packing in some of the finer details

It was everything we expected from a family run B&B, and more Joan and John are phenomenal hosts There was a wholesome genuine vibe from the time they welcomed us to the time we left

We felt very comfortable in their home The beds were comfy, each of our rooms (and we took the entire upstairs between our 5 family members) had its own bathroom and full access to the balcony We had a chance to enjoy an evening around their fire pit and were pleasantly welcomed by a candlelit outdoors Their breakfasts were easily some of the best food we enjoyed throughout our trip, thank you chef Joan!

Our stay at Katy’s Inn was delightful We couldn’t have asked for a better experience The Inn itself is beautiful – a well preserved old historic house just a couple blocks from the heart of downtown La Conner

Our hosts, John and Joan were so welcoming They constantly went above and beyond to make us feel at home, comfortable and well informed We really enjoyed chit chatting with them And they are both excellent cooks as we found out at breakfast each morning The breakfasts were plentiful, delicious, well balanced in flavors, colors and textures, and locally sourced as much as possible My husband said that the best meal of each day while we were in La Conner was our breakfasts The whole place was meticulously clean We stayed in the garden room and it was lovely, light and airy We were supplied with super soft sheets, towels and bathrobes plus everything else a quality inn or hotel would provide And the bed was very comfortable – and I’m picky about beds! There was a beautiful wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, an upstairs deck, a gazebo and gardens that we look forward to enjoying when we come back in warmer weather It’s obvious that John and Joan have put their hearts and souls into this place and created a little piece of nirvana

Our stay at Katy’s Inn was wonderful! Quaint, comfortable, and charming Loved the old house and the outdoor space is beautiful We really enjoyed the communal breakfast with the other guests, it was absolutely delicious too! They also have an outdoor seating area with a fire pit that was pretty awesome

It is walking distance to town, it really couldn’t have been better We would recommend it to everyone and will be happy to visit again in the future!!

Wow, this place is beautiful (Yes, there is an oil refinery across the bay, but you get used to it and it doesn’t smell)Clean bathrooms, free showers and a great walking and bike trail run right through the resort It’s one of our favorite places to visit and enjoy the herons, seals and bald eagles

All ages seem to be having a great time here

The road to get to the park is rough and narrow The parking for arriving rigs is beyond the turn where most people will be going so you have to either know to stop short of where they want you to pull up to or make a circle through the back of the park The sewer connections are interesting also, you remove the cover and simply lay the end of your sewer line in the opening so there is no seal of any kind

The spots are packed together but our pull through was long enough for our long bed, 30ft trailer, and car to fit Definitely not the worst park we’ve ever been in but I wouldn’t brag to anyone about this place either

We spent 3 nights here during early April The weather was awful day 1 and 2, with gale force winds The resort has some protection from the wind, so although the wind was rocking our motor home there was no tipping over threat

The bathrooms are heated and handicapped accessible Each restroom has a private toilet, shower and sink The resort is adjacent to the Tommy Thompson trail, so bikers, runners and walkers can take advantage of the paved trail Beware of broken shells (from the birds) along the trail, they could cause tire damage The view is great except for the 2 refineries across the bay We saw eagles, egrets and loons
