Beautiful property and great location! The staff was so friendly and nice The room was spotless and lovely It was so peaceful and quiet

The pool was clean and crisp and the pool towels are actually thick, plush towels We absolutely loved it here and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Thank you for making our stay wonderful!

Jason Bagby

No real complaints Cute and quiet hotel with a delightful staff Rooms are spacious (some way more than others) and well equipped

I stayed for a week but could have stayed a month no sweat Full size fridge, two cooktop burners, microwave and dishwasher Kind of the standard for a suite Large sinkShower fixtures could use some love Water sprayed annoyingly from my bathtub spout during showers Other in my group had similar woes, leaky toilets, shower headsWater pressure was less than amazingFood and shopping are close by but not necessarily walkableTheres a pool next to a sitting area with twin grills and a putting green away from the road, we really enjoyed that even though the pool was being resurfaced85/10 Thanks for having us

1) shower drain2) cleanliness of bed and pillows3) cigarette smoking and Marriott app4) elevator inspection expiredUpon arrival we were greeted well and had a good, courteous check in experience However, when we got to the room, see the picture attached, the bathroom was not in order Also, the pillows were soiled with what appears to be pet hair

We found extra pillows in the closet, so, if you’d like to see the condition of the pillows we found on the bed, please check the closet where we left the soiled pillows Next, and I understand this is not the hotel’s fault, the room next to or across from us was smoking cigarettes, and when I went to the Marriott app to IM to let your team know, no one acknowledged my complaint Possibly you might want to check the log to see if anyone was monitoring the instant message capability of the Marriott app? Lastly, as you can see from the elevator pictures, the inspection is past due for posting

I came to Montevallo for a motorcycle training course and the Fox and Pheasant Inn was on the list of places to stay nearby The house is in a super convenient location and Janice gave me tips for where to grab food around town during the day Pretty house, comfy bed, and you can’t beat the homemade breakfast! Outstanding experience and I highly recommend staying here if you’re in town

Marlena Wilzbach

We love everything about Fox and Pheasant!! Within the first few minutes of arriving, Janis made us feel like we have been friends forever and we had finally come to visit her beautiful home The rooms are big, lovely and so comfortable (you know

yummy soft sheets) Janis goes out of her way to make sure you have nice visit That includes an amazing breakfast, good nights sleep, a little peaceful downtime on the porch swing and some wonderful new friends that feel like family I’m going to visit instead of a hotel room I’ve booked ❤️

Amy Causey

Called to make reservations and my call was missed Janice Seaman the inn keeper calls me back and for some reason she can’t hear me and she and another lady are having a rude conversation including “come on lady pick up the phone you call me so I’m calling your a$$ back”Needless to say when she called again I told her I was longer interestedSad, it looks like a beautiful place, but if customer service is already a zero before even arriving it’s a no from me

We spent a night at this hotel with my child’s school for a class trip The hotel is attached to the mall so that’s was a great perk and the pool and hot tub was really nice Rooms were spacious and clean with a fridge and a decent size bathroom

What was really amazing about this hotel though was the service Everyone was so friendly and helpful, specifically Antoine Longmire who went above and beyond to make sure we got some breakfast, which the buffet was delicious, before heading out the morning we checked out Thank you so much and we appreciate you

shawnna mimms

My Overall experience here was okay The staff was friendly and did there best to accomdate esp because there was a lot going on I was there for a huge bowling tournament

The breakfast was okay but i found hair in my food and threw it out and went out for breakfast The rooms was okay I feel there should be microwaves in the rooms so you don’t have to go all the way downstairs to the lobby to heat up anything I feel there should be vending machines on each floor Also, there were no bathrobes in the room, no in room charger based on a list of what was supposed to be in the room The wifi went down in the middle of a zoom call and had to get it over ride to get back into my meeting The plus side was there was a mall which help to just let the time go by In all the hotel was okay I don’t think I would be staying there again To charge for parking i feel is not needed since your paying for breakfast and all meals and snacks if needed The location is okay but need a car to get around to get food if need be As mentioned it was okay

Kate E. Marshall

Pros: comfy beds, good sized rooms Cons: the fitness center is entirely inadequate Cardio machines need repair and/or replacement and more weights and machines are needed for this hotel to state that it has a gym on site (don’t expect much)

The rooms are not clean (lots of dust, baseboards haven’t been touched in months, smears on tables) The towels are raw and retain stains from the prior guests, and there’s an abundance of a lack of TLC around the building (shoddy repair work, deep cracks on the elevator floor, dirty floors in gym)

Abigail Richard

I reserved three rooms for a concert Not only were my preferences accommodated, all of the rooms were clean and functional The front desk agent was super sweet and patient (my card wanted to give us a little bit of trouble because it’s a new card)

The breakfast was phenomenal My mother enjoyed the pool as well If I’m ever in the area again, this will definitely be the hotel I go to!

Maranda Cristo

When we arrived, it was already late in the evening We had a suite booked for 6 First, the biggest issue was THE AC DID NOT WORK!!!! They tried to tell us it was a switch but that didn’t work and the entire 3rd floor was hot

Others issues were also present The sofa bed had no linens on it or in the closet So I had to go down and get some There was only 3 towels so again, had to go get some The bathroom had no body wash at all No ice in the ice machines The futon mattress looked like it had Cheeto stains on it The floors were so sticky Not worth the $222 spent to stay here The only saving grace was their staff was incredible The overnight check in lady was very kind and the gentleman working breakfast was super hard working

Michael Stewart

Do yourself a favor and do not stay here We were told 4 pillows and a comforter were missing Look at the size of the pillows

How in the world can we take something that big??? We would need a spare suitcase to do that Plus it’s not like they’re not going to notice it missing Evidently it was an internal theft Don’t make the same mistake we did and stay here You could be their next victim

Never had such a bad experience with hotels before Rooms had unpleasant smell, not clean Carpet was wet from leaking AC

Chair was broken, we asked for another one but ended up with another broken chair, lol No one cleaned the room or refilled with soap, towels and other things Trash can was full, no one took care of that Awful customer service as well I will not book this hotel ever again, doesn’t worth for the price at all and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Lise Gomora

It was ok We’re a family of 5 plus baby Booked this hotel because they could accommodate us, had the pool, and breakfast

Was not cheap Room was fine, beds comfy but high up The shower/tub was nice good pressure and hot water The ac was wonky we had to fuss with the machine under the window, don’t bother with the thermostat Disappointed with the pool- it was so hot in there no ac no air flow we couldn’t stand it Basket of floaties but most of them deflated and a few small towels Pool was dirty there were things floating in it, and when we got back the kids eyes were red and itchy Breakfast was also not good it was fake cheap food that had already been sitting out, even my kids wouldn’t eat it we still had to get breakfast elsewhere Staff was ok They didn’t clean out or refill the room when we were gone so the trash filled up and we kept asking for towels It was ok not worth the price for the ‘Pool and breakfast’

We feel very fortunate to have stayed at this hotelIt was a nice place, Clean, and well maintained The best part was meeting the sweetest young lady, Latoya! From The time we checked in to checkout she was gracious and fun So very helpful and funny

I want BW know the have a precious gem with her and I certainly urge you to keep her happy and with the organization She made our stay special with her kindness and personality You are a successful person,Latoya

Kelly Hoffman

We would return here, after staying 22 nights for business The staff were all friendly, the area is safe and convenient, the rooms are bigger than most, breakfast had hot items, fitness and pool were fully open, and prices were good Only downsides were no HBO like the channel guide listed (62 basic cable channels), and the carpet/furniture are more worn than they look in pictures, BUT rooms were clean and comfortable

These rooms were also more soundproof than a lot of other hotels Kimberly and Cheryl were standout employees, and management (Anup and Tamara) were great to work with

Sheila Poppell

Have stayed in this motel for the last 6 years, every year to hit Alabama splash adventure This year it wasn’t up to par, asked for adjoining rooms, didn’t get it, refrigerator was warm and stinky, no one came to clean the rooms while we were out When I checked on it, they said it was cleaned at request only

If I had been told that I would have requested it, no clean towels were left for us, plus the rates practically doubledetc Very disappointed in our trip this year

Heather Young

My stay last night was wonderful The room was extremely clean and the bed was super comfortable The ladies working the front desk were very friendly

Also the lady overseeing our breakfast was amazing and so helpful Location was perfect , only a slight detour from the interstate 100% recommend a stay with them Thanks for the fantastic stay!

Kevo

The AC in the room made noises like a washing machine Asked for another room but couldn’t accommodate We then requested for maintenance but they didn’t come until the next day in which we had to request a second time

After all that, it still made noises Room smelled bad Pool wasn’t heated as specified on the website which was the reason why we chose that hotel

Great One

Frankly, I was disappointed I paid $149 a night for a room with 2 queen size beds and the room had a dank smell to it The second floor has a sign with arrows pointing to the ice machine, however; there isn’t an ice machine on the second floor

I had to go to the first floor for ice The refrigerator worked too well It froze all of the dinks and the baby food and there wasn’t an adjustment knob inside the unit The internet was hit and miss, more miss than hit for me I used the Quality Inn’s internet which can be captured from Holiday Express The biggest and most dangerous concern was the bathtub Considering the current state of obesity in America and especially in the southern states, the tub is small These tubs must have been built for children and adults 130 pounds and under I’m a bodybuilder on the small side of the sport and I was extremely uncomfortable I slipped getting into the tub because there isn’t any sticky grip adhesive on the tub floor and there is only one handrail positioned at the front of the tub and not the back where most normal people enter the shower I went to the fitness room and came back upstairs The fitness room consists of 3 pieces of cardio equipment There are no weight machines Lastly, the pool area I went downstairs to take a dip to cool off from the Alabama heat and walked into a sauna The water was warm and the room was muggy I figured it was a heated pool which would be great in the winter but during the Summer not so good I felt like a piece of chicken being fried for dinnerThe upside to my visit is the front desk staff and location The staff is accommodating and always present at the front desk, unlike other hotels I’ve visited This hotel has a Waffle House next door, although I don’t suggest you visit due to the lackadaisical attitude and behavior of the staff, A Cracker Barrel’s Country Store, Apple Bee’s restaurant, and the Seafood King restaurant which has some of the best fish, cajun fries, and fried mushrooms that you’d eat in that area The Super Walmart, Zaxby’s chicken, and other gas stations and restaurants are nearby as well The parking lot at the hotel is well lit and has a roaming security guard at night for safety There is coffee available throughout the day and night for coffee lovers and finally, there’s breakfast If you’ve never met Gina you will never be the same again after meeting her She runs the kitchen and dining room like a well-oiled machine Her southern hospitality is what I grew up experiencing and she made everyone she came in contact with feel at home and appreciated Gina was the best part of the visit for me and my family, and the Seafood King The food was good considering what she had to work with and it was fulfilling Overall, I rate the place a C+ because of the price and the tubs, otherwise, it would get a B- grade

Nice, quiet place with a great staff The meeting room served us well for a training facility, on short notice Very accommodating

Very close to many restaurants and storesUpdate (after a total of 35 nights, this year): I am still impressed, and enjoying my stay So impressed, I just reserved a room for another 18 nights

Sara Profitt

Rooms had soaking wet floors, even after not checking in until 10pm Cleaning came in on us without asking and woke us up at around 7am Rooms smelled TERRIBLE

Like burnt wet towels and mildew Shower heads were super gross Elevator broke and we got stuck inside We also see every other person who use the elevator while we were in the lobby get stuck They would just pry the door open and not tell anyone it was broken until the very next day

Joel Sterling

Ok At first I was pleased with the location and upgraded exterior, but it all went south when we entered our room Also, I absolutely understand staffing shortages (everybody has an issue with staffing right now), but the stuff we saw on our room is inexcusable

I will say that the staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, so I’ll give them that Our room came with a hideaway bed (sleeper sofa) which we did use Upon opening the sofa, we discovered a mattress cover that hadn’t been changed for months, if ever There was even a used Qtip swab stuck to the cover as well as rust stains (blood ?), hair, other yellowish stains, etcvery grossI requested and received extra sheets from the front desk and made a nice barrier before actually making the bed In the bathroom we discovered toothpaste smeared on the door, a bar of used non-hotel soap in the soap dish, and a tub that drained very slowly It was very late and we had to book this room 45 miles from our destination as all Tuscaloosa hotels were full that weekend, so we stuck it out Otherwise, we would have probably just left I try not to nitpick but I felt these were glaring issues that should have been addressed by the housekeeping staff On a brighter note, the breakfast bar was well stocked, and tasty, especially the fresh waffles

The room was nice and clean Everything that we needed The casing of the AC unit kept falling off I also don’t think it was working correctly since we had it set on 68 and it was still warm in the room

The pool needed cleaned and the breakfast wasn’t great The prepackaged muffins and yogurt were the best items they had Oh and the fire alarm went off right as we had fell asleep

GH0ST420

This is the absolute BEST hotel in the area! Trust me, I’ve stayed at every single hotel in Pelham, pretty much My family was suddenly kicked from our home during covid, and we tried several different hotels before finally landing in the BW It’s easy to overlook because they don’t have huge flashy signs like the other neighboring hotels, but everything about this place is wonderful

I can even say, during one of the worst times of my life, the BW was a home for us, when we needed one the most It was always quiet, breakfast is supplied for guests, which was really helpful since we were completely broke at the time They even allowed our beloved pets to feel at home, there The kindness from the staff was unlike anything I have experienced anywhere else I don’t believe I can say enough positive things about this Best Western Thank you, for your exceptional service!

I’ll give it a 3 stars cause it wasn’t a bad experience with the exception that when I tried to enter my room it took forever to get it The door always sounded like it was unlocking but would never open up I almost gave up after the 10th try

And the door to the bathroom would not close Other than that the bed was comfy and the people was nice

Stephanie Smith

I received impeccable customer service from housekeeping Thank you so muchMy stay was booked in advance for 10 days checking out today 6-14

Unfortunately, the female manager called me Friday morning after 11 am stating that my room was booked for Thursday and that the balance of more than $200 was currently due After explaining to her that I was giving a travel agent discount she ask for a confirmation number and who authorized the discount Instead of admitting that the hotel doesn’t offer discounts to agents or they misquoted me and a mistake was made etc I was asked to leave or pay the balance This was a major inconvenience since I was in town to fellowship with my Church Family and personal business as well Go figure Other than housekeeping I wouldn’t recommend this particular location

We had rode over 500 miles on our Harley’s and it was 9pm and this was our target for the evening 👍🏻 We were greeting at the front desk by a very nice young lady and check in was fast and easy We found the room very nice, clean and cool Coffee was available in the breakfast area and had a good hot shower and a great nights sleep

Breakfast was continental as there was an unforeseen circumstance with the hot breakfast but there was plenty of coffee and muffins, toast, cereal, fruit ……etc! Highly recommend this motel👍🏻 We stayed in a first floor room!

Johnathan Stewart

Today is our 1st day so we haven’t been able to experience much with the hotel However location is very good with lots of restaurants in the area Check in was easy and getting to the room was also

When we entered the room it was nice and cold Decent size for 3 people It has 2 double beds and the bathroom sink is in the room because the bathroom is only large enough for the toilet and shower Breakfast starts at 6am daily No gym but the pool area is nice It is located in the front by the entrance Try to get a room facing the front They have a better view of the pool and restaurants We got room 205

Mark George

I’m not sure why this establishment has such a high rating It’s fairly well maintained But it needs cleaned

When we checked in our first room we had to request another room The odor of mold and mildew was so overpowering that we would have had a hard time breathing in it The second room was better, but still had a peculiar odor Also, the bathroom and shower area is smallThe breakfast was poor Basically anything that could be watered down was This includes the coffee, juice, etc Multiple people had issues with the waffle iron And the condiments were old As an example, the honey had crystals in itHaving a mixed experience with so many things, I’m not sure I would return – considering this was one of the more expensive options in the area

We arrived fairly late on a Saturday night 8/6/22 Traveling with friends they made the reservation for us and we just paid it on our card once we arrived Hotel is nice and staff at front desk seemed nice

Our room was not very clean and there was pink mold on the bathtub which made me realize it had not been cleaned or sterilized I took pictures and showed the lady at the front desk and she said she would alert the housekeeping staff (it was never cleaned while we were there) the next morning I wanted a strong coffee so I went to Starbucks which is next door and decided to get gas while I was out so that I would be ready to hit the road after breakfast I went to eat at 9:20am with breakfast ending at 10am there was no eggs, no grits, and other items were gone I asked the lady who was working the breakfast area and she stated I am sorry but it is first come first served and it is until we run out I informed her that breakfast is stated to end at 10am and it is just 9:20am and I am a paying guest just like everyone else and I should be able to eat what is offered to others It does not take much to cook grits or eggs She refused to do so and said I am sorry I am not cooking anymore We do not want there to be waste there were at least 4 other guests who came down and had the same experience I told the front desk of my experience with the pink mold, and the breakfast and I asked for a manager to call me back I did not hear anything so I called and left a message again on 8/11/22 As of 8/23/22 I still have not heard from any manager concerning my issues I assume at this point that they do not care I blog about vacations and I constantly post and download information about great places to stay on specific routes of travel I decided to wait to post a review until I knew how management was going to respond, but since they didn’t I decided to let people know this hotel is NOT a place I would stay again

Customer service is fine I was greeted by the front desk staff with a smile I did not receive any acknowledgement or free water for HH status, but I was tired and it was late, so I didn’t pushI’ve organized my feedback by roomFirst Room – Room 512- Large roach – did not stay long enough to inspect the room, immediately left and asked for another room But where there is one roach there is typically moreSecond Room – Room 410- Ant traps in the bathroom – a FIRST, I’ve never seen bug traps in a Hampton Inn- The thermostat did not work The AC never turned off and was going full blast, luckily I love a cold room and packed layers- There was hair on the bathroom floor (not mine)- The tub drain was clogged, so I stood in a few inches of water during the shower - Pink mold in the corners of the bathtubI stayed for 2 nights and was out of the room during the day until late There was no one at the front desk when I arrived at night and departed to leave any feedback I honestly was too nervous to get another room for fear it was going to be even worseAll in all I would NOT recommend this hotel 100% satisfaction is NOT guaranteed if you decide to stay here I will be visiting the area for work again and will not be staying here I’ve also notified my company of the state of this hotel, so others will not book a stay

The pool area was nasty and filthy The pool was really cloudy, and the whole area smelled awful Lots of trash on the floor

The hot tub was also underfilled by about 10 inches – a pretty clear indicator that it hasn’t been serviced in a long time When you turn on the jets, it just sprayed water everywhere because the water level was just at or below the jet level Normally I wouldn’t care so much, but I spent $310 for one night and had small kids who wanted to enjoy the pool area I wouldn’t let them go in the pool because it didn’t look clean or safe

The hotel itself was clean Good water pressure in the shower The staff was friendly

Now I will explain the reason for the two stars The most important thing to me on an overnight stay in a hotel is a good night’s sleep The mattress on the bed was horrible! I was lucky to get 2 hours sleep if that I had springs poking me all night They really need to upgrade their mattresses

Jim Fineis

The staff was nice, but the facility itself shows an immense amount of wear and age Everything was clean and organized, but everything in my guest room needed to be replaced from the televisions to the doors which were warped and coming apart to the shower which had missing caulk The staff did the best they could with the well-worn facility

Not the best stay As we walked in our room you could feel it musty A shelf on the bathroom wall was close to falling off

The juices in the morning for breakfast were watered down Coffee didn’t even taste like coffee Not a lot of selection for breakfast either and not enough Not well prepared and not well managedNot what we expect from Hampton Inn

We go into town a little early, but our room was ready at 1pm and very clean We were very appreciative to check in early in the middle of our soccer tournament day At the end of the day we enjoyed the pool for several hours and at dinner poolside

The area was very clean The kids had some hot chocolate in the lobby on the way up to the room Thanks so much to the night staff on 8/20 that was very patient with our kiddos The gentleman at the front was so kind and helpfulOur room was very clean The beds were cozy and the air conditioning was cold It was very spacious for my daughter and I The bathroom area was also very cleanBreakfast the next day started at 7, but hot coffee was available at 615 The breakfast area was crowded but there was mostly enough seating for everyone Yogurt, breads, eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh blueberries, and waffles were availableWe had a great stay Thanks so much!

Had a wonderful stay there! We traveled from Chicago so my daughter could visit friends in the area Got there on Thursday night and the girl behind the desk was very nice Rooms were exceptionally clean

We stayed til Saturday morning and then traveled on to Louisiana for a wrestling show my husband was working On our way back from Louisiana we had to stop back to drop a friend off and we had no problems staying there again The guy behind the desk this time went above and beyond to accommodate us He saw I had knee brace on and offered me a wheelchair to get up to our room Rooms again were exceptionally clean Such a nice place to stay My family and I have decided that the next time we visit we will definitely stay there again

The hotel was ok and some the staff were nice However PLEASE pay attention the your credit card statement once you’ve checked out My card was charged FIVE times for ONE room

Once contacted the manager on duty apologized but was uninterested in explaining why or how this had happened He asked if I give five days and call back to see if the charges were gone Just horrible in my opinion I’m a Hilton Honors member and he offered nothing for the inconvenience that this has caused me

We were taken such good care of by the awesome staff! The only problem we had during our four day stay was the air conditioner could not be controlled The room was very very cold Breakfast was fantastic and varied each day

We enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of the lobby where the met very friendly guest We were there for a wedding and would, definitely, stay there in the future This hotel is dog friendly and fun for kids! If Hamilton is in the lobby he will amaze you with his lego creations!

Francine Arnold

Clean and the hotel staff very helpful Good breakfastDifficult to get a restful sleep with trains with horns blowing in the middle of the night (in view of your room)! If we stay again we’ll ask for a room on the apposite side of the building

We absolutely loved our stay here They accommodated all of our needs Our dog loved how noise free the rooms are

They had a really nice breakfast with lots of options to choose from From 6pm until 11pm they have a menu you can choose to get dinner from and at all times they have a snack bar if you news to grab a bite to eat The pool is nice and is open until later The rooms looked newly renovated and we enjoyed how comfortable the sheets were and the huge TV! Everything was cleaned immaculately The only strange thing was the AC would completely turn off randomly We had to wake up to turn it back on once That was the only thing we thought was strange but other than that we had a great stay Check out isn’t until 12pm which is amazing!

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable Beautiful atmosphere inside and outside around that part of the city

This hotel has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home We’re in town for a stressful business event and coming back to this room was very peaceful I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Birmingham, AL

Peter Martin

The room was adequate, nothing special They were not able to provide the room reserved, (king bed), instead game me two twins The breakfast was again adequate, nothing special, although the coffee was excellent

The location of the hotel is fine but the surrounding area is a challenge There are no sidewalks and it is difficult to get around unless you have a car Don’t expect to walk to dinner unless you don’t mind dodging traffic
