First room wasn’t comfortable for us and we asked for a different room, we needed more bedding, towels and an extra key for our pregnant daughter arriving at a later time Everything we asked for was delivered quickly and without issue Other room was just right

Staff went above and beyond to make my daughter comfortable with extra long pillow for her baby bumpCheck in and out is easy, parking available and places to eat close by,Thank you again to the staff

Main room was nice Bed sank in the middle The bathroom was another story

Had to change the toilet paper in the “cleaned bathroom” because it had some kind of moldy stain Hair that wasn’t my color in the sink and in the tub Paint was peeling above the tub where someone tried to paint over a leak and mold Ceiling also looked like mold was painted over instead removing Bathroom also reminded me of an older Holliday Inn even though the building isn’t that old

Nice hotel

only one elevator, but we never had to wait any amount of time for it Choice of pillows on the bed was nice One was soft and puffy – the second was firm and flatter The really different thing about this place, that I’ve never seen elsewhere, is that they have a “lending library” of sorts, but rather than books they lend games, puzzles, even a crockpot!! Yes, these rooms are suites, so have a full size fridge and a stove and sink, so I guess you can borrow the crockpot and make your meal in your room for later in the day Interesting place

First of all, I have to say that this is one of the best places that I have ever stayed It is because of the staff, the rooms are great and spacious, very clean everywhere I had originally booked another hotel not being familiar with the area and BOY oh BOY was I shocked at the condition of the hotel

I called the Fairfield Inn and they said they had one room left due to several sports tournaments going on that weekend They were so kind and considerate of the circumstances and told me to come there immediately The woman at the front, MaKaela and Crystal was so amazing when we arrived Matt Sech, the GM of the hotel was one of the most attentive managers I have ever dealt with at a hotel, also take into consideration the hotel was completely booked once we checked in If you are ever in the area, this is the place to stay One of the best experiences I have ever had traveling, hands down!

laina chase

I stayed here about 3 weeks ago on a business trip and overall I enjoyed the experience I just booked again for July 11-13 and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had First room when we went to go to sleep we pulled the blankets back and the whole bed was stained, which shows they don’t clean there sheets or bedding

So they switched our room and that room had a horrible musty moldy smell which turned into us finding cockroaches running around the room I will never be staying at this hotel again

NJ Diver

Did not honor the reservation in May (booked directly with Marriott app and I am a Gold Elite) Wasted 2 hours of my time when I was completely exhausted, gave me a key to an occupied room Staff training issues

Elevator was not working properly and they knew it had issues and was still in service (very scary experience) Ended up driving 2+ hours back home after being awake over 24 hours No apologies and fortunately Marriott corporate made it right as best they could but I lost a full work day and had to drive when completely exhausted as by the time this all went down I couldn’t find another hotel in the area and was too tired to spend any more time on it Never in 30 years of travel have I had such a bad experience after staying 100s of hotel stays The 1 star is truly deserved Traveler beware as this is one you might to skip and read the 1 and 2 star reviews

Like stepping back in time for lunch! Friendly waitress was busy but polite Food( got the stir fry) was oddly seasoned with a brown gravy, but freshly made Heavy on rather undercooked large broccoli chunks

No rolls, a side of salad, was fine Apparently reservations are encouraged but we were seated nicely The hostess meandered around, helping where needed to ensure guest satisfaction All around I would recommend and return to try another menu option

1st time customer at the yellow House Quaint rustic outside appearance

Lots of parking The inside looks very 70’ish on a budget The place really needs updating I order a prime rib with a salad On my salad I wanted a sweet and sour balsamic dressing Didn’t get the balsamic dressing I received a spicy balsamic that I didn’t want I didn’t bother the waitress about it because she seemed to be uncaring at the time when I placed my order She also had these eyebrows that were drawn on her forehead that were so bad it looked a little unnerving I’m sure Steven King could write a book about her When I received my Prime rib, it was good The steak knife that I was given to cut my prime rib didn’t cut the meat it tore at it I ate half of it only because it was taking me so long to try to eat it with this horrible steak knife I finely said something to the wait staff about the mishap on the dressing, but it seemed no one cared The web site states fine dining however it is not At the very best it’s a 2-star restaurant I had high expectation for the Yellow House and left disappointed

First time I’m dissatisfied with Holiday Inn Express This hotel is old which is nothing bad if it’s clean and smells clean The outside and lobby area were not clean and kept good as usually is with Holiday Inn Express

The room were we stayed smelled like mold and the sheets had some black stainsMy family and I definitely will not stay in this hotel again

Chris Wright

Front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate It’s an older hotel that is having issues with thermostats in the rooms as well as fridges Was in 3 rooms in 4 days, the thermostat wasn’t working in 2 of those rooms (including the last room) I suffered thru 74⁰ in the room because I was tired of moving

The staff can only do so much when they aren’t given an adequate property to work with

William

Absolutely the worst holiday inn I have ever stayed at Checked into suite, bed had blood stains on bed sheets, toilet was clogged Front desk puts me in second room can’t get into room Lock broken go back to front desk

3rd room is clean but shower nob was broken, ended up giving up and went to sleep 3 months later had to stay at same hotel Bed sheets stained, no hot water, shower curtain rod hanging loose just 5 feet high, no soap had to get some at front desk, no water pressure to wash soap off, no cups tea or coffee had to go back to front desk

I’ve been a rewards member since 2011 and use HIE hotels often Some are great and some not so much This hotel location use to be another hotel and had some renovations done but it needs some more work

The bathroom shower had mildew and crud on the outside of the shower door, the hallways had linen and trash on the floor at 1030 pm When we initially walked into the lobby at 10pm there were guests sitting in the lobby sitting area and they were just hanging out just as loud as they could be The receptionist who was checking people in didn’t bother to tell them to hold it down Just loud folks throughout the hotel There were several different sporting events that weekend for high school aged kids We were in town for the second part of an AAU basketball tournament and drove 4 hours to get to HIE I was tired and wasn’t in the mood for loud folks We got in at 10pm and the trash bin in the front of the hotel was packed to the top The trash can was just as full in the morning when we checked out at 11am Breakfast hours were from 6-10am which was very convenient for everyone staying at the hotel I went to breakfast at 845am and there were items which weren’t on the breakfast bar because they ran out of Items which weren’t available were cinnamon rolls, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, and bacon The bread basket was empty and we had to ask for a refill The hotel kitchen staff needs to do better on headcount versus incoming guests There were alot of food items which ran out by 9am and breakfast hours ended at 10am There were alot of guests who were upset when they weren’t realized all the items which weren’t available The pool was closed until further notice and so was the office area where guests can use tge internet/computers Alot needs to fixed at this HIE location Recommend you find another HIE in the area We won’t be coming back to this location

All the guests couldn’t stop raving about how delicious and on theme the food was (Thank You Chef Ron) From the planning to delivery Dennis is wonderful and so easy to work with There was no doubt in my mind that the shower would be amazing It exceeded my expectations!

We stayed here in July and it was THE MOST AMAZING B&B! Dennis is the host with the very most He gave us a full tour of the beautiful house and told us so many interesting facts and details about the architecture and history We were simply enchanted

The house itself was fantastic enough, and then Dennis and his chef prepare this incredible breakfast every morning This reminded me why bed & breakfasts are the best accommodation type on planet Earth Especially this B&B I wasn’t expecting to go back to Reading, PA anytime soon, but I may have to simply to stay in this wonderful house again Thank you so much Dennis for your lovely hospitality, great conversation, attention to every detail of our stay, and of course for those scrumptious waffles! We will be back (and I’m definitely sending my family members) All best from Germany!

This Best Western location should have the “Plus” taken out of the nameIt is just not being maintained well And everything is there is very cheap

A normal Best Western is nicer than this placeDo yourself a favor and stay somewhere cheaper for just as nice or better Or pick a nicer place for the same or just slightly higher price

Carrie j Heck

The people I transported stopped here to chat we were going to stay but the prices were a little up and it changed when they found out that there would be kids staying in the room so they decided to go to another hotel that didn’t change their prices they also do not have a laundry room there that I’m aware of but it was clean outside we didn’t get to see the rooms the lobby was decent I would do research if you’re going to stay there or near that place

My wife and I just stayed at the Artist’s Inn for the second time This visit was very different because last time we stayed in one of the separate houses and this time we stayed in the main house Our first stay was really nice, but this visit was amazing

Jan could not be a better host Not only does she prepare truly amazing breakfasts, but her attention to detail makes every facet of the stay wonderful Jan’s touch was reflected in everything from homemade cookies to extra wonderful linens and toiletries The house itself is wonderfully appointed Our room had a very comfortable king sized bed, a jacuzzi tub and a nice sitting room Jan is very knowledgeable about the town and surrounding areas and even though we’ve been to Lancaster a zillion times, this really helped us plan our days while there If you’re looking to be pampered at a real B&B, this is the real deal The only downside was we didn’t get to meet Bruce, but I’m sure we’ll meet him next time

Jen and Jason Smith

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Artist’s Inn in February 2022! It was our first B & B experience and I don’t know that we could ever stay anywhere else Jan and Bruce are amazing hosts: friendly, accommodating, helpful, you name it Just good people

There was a snowstorm the weekend we were booked to arrive and Jan called personally to see if we would need to reschedule Jan’s breakfasts are amazing — they kept me full all day We so enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast The historic house is charming Our suite was adorable and I enjoyed the whirlpool bath Can’t say enough good things! We live six hours away but definitely plan to go back

Denise Robinson

For my family and I, this was our first trip to Pennsylvania Wasn’t sure where to stay I came upon the Sisters house, and keep going back to it, luckily our dates were perfect for three nights in Sophie side! When we arrived , we knew right away we made right choice to stay here! Clean, decorated nicely, funny books to read, food for snacking, they thought of everything to make our stay so comfortable! Even supplied laundry soap to wash clothes, it’s the little things they thought of that made us appreciate this lovely place! We would gladly stay here again! Thank you so much for your fine hospitality! The Robinson & Pastore family

Cesar was a wonderful host, adding little touches here and there to really make as feel at home Breakfast each day was delicious I’m planning to get married and so also used the stay as an opportunity to scout this as a wedding venue, and it is very much on my short list! The setting is quite beautiful, and the property offers a number of special spots for photo opportunities or unique spaces for wedding flare I am so happy we stayed and look forward to a return visit! This by far was the best B&B experience I have ever had We stood here this weekend to celebrate our 26 wedding anniversary We really enjoyed our stay! From the moment we entered to the very end we were treated as if we were the only guest by the attentiveness given by Caesar

The hotel, room and the architecture very detailed and the cleanliness was top priority by all This place is a hidden secret the grounds were just beautiful the staff must be commended on a job well done! The energy of the staff was infectious! I became so used to poor service and attitudes during the pandemic that I forgot what good service felt likeThe food was outstanding everyday fresh home made food We felt like if we were dining in a 5 star 💫 ⭐️ Restaurant The personal tour that was given to us took us back in time You will definitely NOT regret staying hereCaesar you are a very courteous, polite and delightful soul! This was our first stay at Comfort Inn We were pleasantly surprised The hotel was relatively new

It was clean and mostly quiet The free breakfast was OK My wife was impressed with the quality of the sheets We decided we would put Confort Inn on a list of preferred places to stay I even created a Choice hotels account Didn’t get any paints for that stay but did get a few for the stay on the way back

Turns out my guest and I found this hotel to be less than comfort

I would not be back there because the room was not as clean as it should have been (hair in the bathtub, on the top blanket on the bed and on the carpet) It appeared that the room was just straighten up and wiped down Since it was just for the night my guest and I just took the top sheet off (Slept in our clothes) and used the shower to batheBreakfast was stale danish and frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches They did have coffee and apple juice
