The staff was great Very friendly and helpful We booked our room through priceline and we were not told about a $100 deposit on there

The room was clean and good size They have breakfast their with a good variety The only downside is there is not a ton of parking and there was road construction on the outer road to get to the hotel

Jim Torchia

While I normally have great experiences at HIE hotels, this location failed to deliverThe Internet connection in my room was either non existent or too slow to use With work to do, I switched to my personal hotspot connection on my phone, confirming issue was not with my computer

I tried several times over two days to use the hotel Internet with the same poor resultThe breakfast buffet was terrible Sausage patties had an off taste and the serving vessels required two hands to operate The egg products were about as cheap as you can get from commercial suppliers and tasted as suchThe room was clean and otherwise comfortable Location and parking were also OK Getting there was a bit tricky as it is on a frontage road of a highway, but GPS made this a non issue Staff at check-in were great

Amie Schrack

ZERO STARS! this hotel charged my card for my entire hotel stay…then as I’m standing in line to check in I over hear that my stay was CANCELLED because they “were overbooked” NO CALL IN ADVANCE! NO APOLOGY! They said that since I booked third party, my reservation was first to be automatically cancelled They knew this this morning and proceeded to charge my card anyway

Had I known this before my 4 hour drive here, I could have made alternate arrangements but no…had to be just as we arrived to check in…VERY ANGRY WITH THIS PLACE! Now we’re having to scramble to find a hotel…kids in tote and all VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Brittany Crawford (B)

The front desk attendant was super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly We got all checked in very late at around 3 am The customer service was great as he solved a booking issue for us without any hesitation

The rooms were nice and clean and they had decent tv channel selectionI got a room with two queen beds Each bed has 4 amazing pillows However, I’d say the beds were kinda hard and the blanket they used as a topper was a super rough texture They had a very large selection of food for breakfast and it was a nice surprise I will say that I got there right at 6 am and my gravy was kinda coldAll in all, my 2 day stay was pretty good Kinda on the pricey side for my liking, but still, it was a nice little get a way I would book here again in the future if I ever need a room out that way

Jackie Webb

The room was fine Standard hotel room The only issue I had was when I tried to get a later check out

In the past they have let me stay till one with no problems, even when the hotel was full for that night When I asked today they said they were full and to even stay till noon I had to be a rewards member But when I was in the lounge area waiting for the rain to stop, they were still checking people in who didn’t have reservations? Just a little surprised since I’ve been allowed to stay late before

Amber Lee

Really only one thing that made me select good, instead of great

HUMID ROOM There was even a dehumidifier in there to try to keep the moisture down That made the room quite musty smelling Not sure if all rooms are like that But 316 sure was! Great breakfast, cute lobby area with tons of seating, nice staff, pretty clean facility, definitely quiet location, good price for what we got, bed was decent Pillows, not so much

Beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced at a hotel The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the smell inside the hotel hallways It smells strongly of urine

On 2 floors 🤷‍♀️ Like the hallway floors need to be seriously shampooed Staff was great Room was clean Fitness center was good sized Just smells really bad in common areas

M

Arrived at hotel and the unkempt grounds were a red flag Holes in window screens were not impressive as well In the room it was immediately noted that there were no top sheets on one bed

The shampoo dispenser was empty, a dirty wash cloth was present in in showerBreakfast was a joke, only a few muffins and coffee Nothing hot in the serving trays Overall a very underwhelming experience Cannot recommend this property

Kathleen Deutsch

Our room was huge The bed and floors seemed cleanThat’s it for the positives

Toilet dirty I ended up cleaning it There was no way the cleaner didn’t see the excrement in itShower rusty, paint peelingCentipede running around bathroomFridge had no freezer compartment, was iced upNo hot food for breakfast, and what was there was not fresh The orange juice machine had a sign, saying that it had stevia in itNo room refresh Had to go to desk to get toilet paperTV a disaster Very small channel selection, and picture kept freezing upWhy didn’t I complain? I called them 5 times, and no one picked up I did the “chat”, with IHG Their advice? Call an 800 number, which also didn’t pick upAvoid

We really enjoyed the hotel The breakfast variety was really nice and suprising The hot breakfast was always changing each day and not your standard eggs, sausage and bacon everyday

The room was nice and clean We did use the fitness center multiple times and it had plenty of space, free weights, heavy balls, yoga balls, bikes and treadmills Pool was not overly large All staff was extremely nice and helpfulWe would definitely stay at this property again

Dan Huisinga

Friendly staff Front desk, breakfast, housekeeping, and maintenance all seemed to enjoy giving us great hospitality and cared about making us feel appreciated during our stay Loudest and slowest elevator i have ever been in but it worked fine

Clean as expected at Hampton and the cleanliness in the pool area was above any i have experienced in any hotel

A Sayers

I was a little hesitant based off of the reviews However I really enjoyed my stay My family and I stayed four nights for a football tournament

When we got our room it was really nice and it was clean, sanitize and smelled refreshing The first night they forgot to put housekeeping for both rooms so I had to call them All the staff were really nice and very helpful My kids and I are really picky when it comes to breakfast but we all enjoy the foid They had a variety of different sides each day, and they kept the eating area really cleanThe only thing that bother me was i held the room on one credit card but when we got to the hotel I had to switch it to a different card and the Lady never informed me that there will be a hold on the first credit card but she did say that it would drop off when we checked out Sadly that was not the case my first credit card was charged again the day we checked out as well as the second credit card that was supposed be charged was also double charged at check out I called them to verify the credit card that was supposed to be charge, and they confirmed the second card They said it take 5 to 10 days for the fall off my credit card balance smh It doesn’t make sense to me because if that was a case I would’ve just kept it on the first card instead of switching it to the second card so now I have a hold on two different credit cards

Excellent location near the power and light district downtown The parking lot is small but I was always able to find a spot (would probably be more difficult if an event were happening) The breakfast was well stocked and the woman attending it was so friendly

The room itself was spacious and the work are was really nice My only complaint is they said they would email me my bill and then did not, but I was able to get this resolved somewhat easily through the support phone number

Smalltown Mom

Location great Rooms clean But- if you want to control the temp in your room dream on

It’s restricted It will maintain the same temp with heating and cooling and does not go below 68, you cannot manually run a fan The floor temp out in the hall is 75 It’s 40° outside and of course we can’t even crack a window after our family has showered If your run cold and need to be warm at all time this is the place for you I will never stay at another chain if I’m paying $200 a night to only be uncomfortable I left at 9 am because house keeping knocks on every single door repeatedly until you do So if you stayed up late for an event at the Sprint center expect to be pushed out first thing in the morning It was all the buzz for breakfastGuess that’s one way to make your turnover happenI need my room to be comfortable to sleep So women going through hormonal changes good luck Oh and the elevator doesn’t work while you’re climbing stairs in the 75° warmth I think it’s for staff only They didn’t have issues but we noticed guests all using the stairs to haul luggageBut- to not drink and drive, close to the venue and restaurants Next time- we’re staying at another chain that doesn’t babysit the thermostat for you Especially when you have requested for help to correct the issue Staff simply does not care

I travel to tournaments with high school students all year long and have done so for many years This hotel far outranks all other hotels I’ve ever stayed at, and that is due in very large part to the amazing customer service we received during our week-long stay The manager sat down to chat with my students in the lobby, the front desk clerks were friendly and attentive to our needs, and the ladies working in food service were a delight

The other reason that the Holiday Inn Express KC Downtown gets my vote is due to their amazing breakfast selection At other hotels, you search (often in vain) for something edible Here, there was so much to choose from and everything was fresh and delicious!

II traveled from Florida and needed a place to stay for 4 days Check in was a breeze the desk attendant was very polite and friendly I was thoroughly surprised as my room was absolutely spotless I stated to one of my children that I’ve never seen such a white tub in my life lol

During my 4 day stay I had no issues whatsoever I met 2 of the office attendants and both were very very friendly Did not have any experience with the laundry and lounge area but both areas looked clean I know that I seem to use the word clean an awful lot but that is the number one Thing I look at when I am looking for a place to stay The parking lot was very well lit and I spotted several of the cameras I felt very safe in the area the bed was super comfortable and all of the towels an bedding were in like new condition I did not use the stove or microwave as I did not need them but the refrigerator again was spotless I would recommend this hotel in a minute If ever back in the Kansas City area I will be staying here again

After the longest, hottest day driving w two little kids…to find this gem on a whim was the best!!! Jackie and the front desk is the sweetest, most professional person I have meet in so long Good customer service is so rare nowadays, and she went ABOVE and beyond to make us feel “at home” My Place Hotel I hope you know what an impeccable representative you have greeting your guests! I am a loyal My Hotel fan now and will be staying at them our next two nights on our trip!

Gushing reviews for this place MUST be fake! First, this hotel is an “economy extended stay “(says this right on the sign),had I known this I would have never booked it but since it was $140 a night I thought can’t be that bad Well, this place is run down (starting with the dirty/worn carpet in the lobby), rooms aren’t horrible but are quite humid and uncomfortable as the a/c units aren’t great But mostly the area feels sketchy

I felt very uncomfortable with my packed car parked in the lot overnight after I saw some men just loitering Can’t believe I paid that much for this place that doesn’t even offer free breakfast The staff was friendly and can’t help that this place is low-rent

My daughter had a cheer competition so we stayed here from 3/25 to 3/27 mind you we are from a small town in Nebraska so it was our first time being anywhere near a city it was an experience for us the hotel was AMAZING the staff was so friendly The restraunt choices around the hotel are amazing and there are so many to pick from! The lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful

The room cleaning ladies were also friendly welcoming us and having a conversation with my daughter and I And the breakfast was delicious the gentleman in charge of that was wonderful at keeping things fresh and filled Not to mention the Starbucks in the building! Thank you all so much for an amazing weekend stay!!! I really appreciated the hospitality especially since it was our first hotel stay We had a wonderful time and would 100% stay again!

Prior to my arrival, I called the hotel several times Every time I called, the staff was very friendly and answered my questions with a smile (I felt the smile😊) and no hesitation

They were just as friendly at check in and we felt welcomed They don’t offer on site parking and I wasn’t pleased to find that out at check in and to be charged $10 per day to park across the street was a big let down(I was not informed of this when I made the reservation) The lobby area was very nice and clean They have a Starbucks that is open from 9am – 2pm (Extra charge) and they offer a hot breakfast The room was nice and clean However, I think the house jug or tires when it came to making the second bed(See photo) I really liked that I could communicate with the front desk, via text Anytime we needed anything (Towels mostly) they were on it The Street Car passes right in front of the hotel and it’s free There are a lot of restaurants, bars, theater, and the convention center are in walking distance Overall our experience at the hotel was a great one!

Christiane Agee

Everything but the parking was great!Booked this for a last minute family getaway The room was clean, all of the staff we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful and having the streetcar stop out front was great for going to power and light and Union Station Free breakfast was convenient

The parking situation is not ideal and it’s unnerving it is across the street and full of warnings about break ins

The front desk staff deserves 10 stars!! Always polite at tentative and willing to help youthat cam it’s just a fact that some other employees not doing their job properly

I’ve been staying at this hotel for the last three months every other week for business, the majority of the time the rooms are spotless, but lately been getting rooms where the smell is unbearable And force me to ask to move out to another room This last time I found empty bottles of wine under the work deskOne thing for sure the valet parking guys have no manners and being ruthless when talk to the drive in drivers Not just me or the person dropping me off, also seem some guys brig rude to parked vehicles waiting in the line literally ordering to move or park elsewhereI really want to use their services sometimes, but seeing them talking to other people like they want to make me not toIt might be a third-party company and I’m leaving a bad review carelessly For what it is They may need to be trained,

Great Hotel Good location walk distance to Power and Light One block to the light rail stop

Such a great stay!I was in town for a work conference The staff were extremely friendly from the moment we walked inI was pleasantly surprised with a very nice message on a card from the housekeeper

It made my day!! The room was very clean, I felt very comfortable & all staff were very accommodating!Breakfast was very good, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, juice and coffee! The staff were right there to ensure I had everything I needed! These workers deserve a raise and a pat on the back! I would 100% recommend this hotel if you’re ever in that area!!

The young lady that worked the counter and had been coordinating through the person that was setting up the room for me She also had a smile on her face when I showed up @ around 0130 She had everything I needed that was waiting on me there

I can’t say enough good things about her Very pleasant, and extremely helpfulI have no complaintsThe rooms were outstanding They were clean they were more than clean they were military inspection ready It was a great great experience for what little time I got to spend there

Terry Guers

The hotel is conveniently located just east of KC, just off the interstate, and not far from the Truman Presidential Library and the Royals baseball stadium My request for an upper level floor away from traffic was honored The bed was comfortable

The furnishings were fine But, the bathroom floor was noticeably worn from mopping Also the stairwell carpeting was discolored with wear All of the employees were friendly and helpful

Curb appeal needs a little work, other than that the room was comfy and clean Slept very well, spacious room and bathroom All the amenities you need

Anita was at the front desk, she’s caring and kind She’s super helpful and made checking in a breeze After checking in to 111, we decided to grab a bite to eat Unhooked trailer, she said she keeping eye on it, which was nice not to drag it with us Anita’s customer service is outstanding, welcoming We’ll definitely stay next time we’re driving through Thanks again

Tracy Clements

This was November 2021 and still kills me Room was fine as we had 2 dogs Front desk personnel were nice

However, and I absolutely know it was my fault, in the rush to leave with the dogs I left my $1600 John Hardy bracelet that I have owned for 18 years in the room Of course the maid didn’t turn it in It was a one of a kind gold and silver dot cuff Front desk really no help and kept having to call Police reports filed in case it was pawned in neighboring counties I Have accepted I will never see it again So if you see a maid wearing a one of a kind 4 inch John Hardy cuff, it’s mine Hard lesson to learn Search your room because the maids will pocket whatever you leave behind

Very kid friendly!!! The pool was a good temperature and everything was clean Breakfast had a good assortment of options and the staff was all very friendly and accommodating Sierra was one of two food prep staff that made sure my toddler had every option she could desire including cutting up extra strawberries just for her! Would definitely stay again!

The bedroom was dirty and the lady at the front desk was rudeThe bed comforter had makeup on it, not a stain because it was rubbed into the sheet as well The shower was slimy and very slick on the bottom

There was one towel for two people When we called down to tell them about the dirty room her response was she was the only one here and there is nothing she can do When I mentioned the sheets again her response was that she wouldn’t be able to do anything, she can’t leave the front deskWe asked for a new room and she huffed down the phone before telling us to come down and get the new keysBetween the room being dirty and customer service, we won’t be back I had high hopes with this place being new but I guess notOn a positive note, there was an ice machine on both the 2nd and 3rd floor!

Jasen Parks

Passing through on a motorcycle trip in July 2022 The place was in a good location, clean and staff was nice Left before breakfast but I am sure it was fine (for a motel)

I had the opportunity to stay at this property on a business trip and I was pleased with the overall quality of the stay Customer service is outstanding and truly lives up to the Hilton standard The rooms appears to have been recently renovated and the cleanliness throughly the property from the roomItself to all public areas was excellent

Breakfast was also very good with a nice variety of options and hot breakfast items The only thing that was disappointing was the climate control in the room It was quite warm even when setting the AC to the lowest temperature setting and the fan on high mode I think this may be the byproduct of the older building infrastructure If the AC worked better in the room, this would easily have been a 5 star review

When we stayed at this hotel there was two soccer teams here so a lot of people Tom and his staff made sure everything was always clean and stocked The breakfast was great and they were never out of any food

Common areas were always clean I was really impressed on how clean and friendly everyone at this hotel was Will definitely stay here again

Nice staff, clean and decent location for the Country Club Plaza area I noticed the breakfast was good (hot, clean, taste good and really good quality apples!) They also had a “Happy Travels” to go bag with water, granola bar, apple and muffin when I checked out

VERY NICEThere was a loud toilet in the room and an odd tapping from outside during the evening

Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway The only downside to our stay was the loud guests, which the hotel can’t control We had the theme suite and it was lovely

We did have to ask for more shampoo, as there was only enough for one person But they kindly gave me more! The room was very nicely decorated and the view was very nice Breakfast was really good, better than most hotels This was my second stay and I would definitely go back 😊

So, it’s a hotel You want clean room, safe property, some conveniences like a microwave and mini-fridge, snacks, a bar, ample parking, you get those things What makes this place great is the people

Everyone I had to interact with was wonderful and always gave me the feeling that I was important and that what I had to say, they wanted to hear It was really nice From check, to the night shift worker giving me directions, to the guy at the bar and even the person who was taking care of my room, everyone was great This is a good place to stay by yourself, with a group or with your family I highly recommend and I will definitely make this my hotel of choice for all of my visits

Great location, clean hotel, super friendly staff, amazing room (get the king with the whirlpool tub — worth it), AND, our favorite was that they have “adult swim” from 10-11pm There was a large group of teens at the hotel during our stay and, as kids do, they were all over the pool having a good time Adult swim hour gave us the time to just … chill, as adults like to do, without the craziness of kids being kids

If you need somewhere to stay in or around Kansas City, definitely pick this one It’s just far enough away from the big city to stay safe and quiet but also close enough to enjoy what the city and surrounding areas have to offerWill definitely book here next time I’m in the area 10/10

The room was good enough, though I’ve experienced better for sure The shower head was on the short side, I’m 6’2″ and I had to lean over to get my head wet The pressure was high too, like a fire hose

Some might like that, it was a bit too strong for my liking This hotel didn’t have free breakfast, which seems almost standard at many similar hotels these days At least there are many good options for food near by (got Lamar’s donuts instead, highly recommend) I prefer to stay at another hotel near by in Independence, but the prices were super high for the Chiefs playoff game I will choose the other hotel next time I’m driving cross country

This hotel was fantastic It was clean, all of the staff was very friendly and was eager to assist any of our needs We had customers and staff stay at this hotel and they had nothing but good experiences

I had stayed at this hotel several times throughout almost 2 years because we had events next door Every time was a pleasant experience Unfortunately, the event venue was not the same inviting and accommodating experience We had to move our event that we have several times a year to a different location I am sad to not be staying at this hotel any longer but I know the next hotel and conference center will bring us a great experience as well

Bryan Maiman

The room was a little small but nice I liked the layout And the loveseat and foot stool was a nice touch

Much more comfortable than the norm No microwave though They also came in and “freshened up” the room when we told them we didn’t want anyone in there during our stay There’s also no complimentary/continental breakfast I’ve been to far cheaper places with much better breakfast options that didn’t cost extra Wifi was slow 🐌 too3 2/3s Stars

What else can you expect from a Marriott property other than absolute beauty and perfection Residence Inn implies or suggests a longer term stay than what a usual hotel booking would see, and wow are these places equipped for that! The in room refrigerator is a shorter version of the full-size you have in your kitchen at home, but I would venture to say three times larger than one of those “mini fridges” you had in your college dorm room There are 2 stove top burners which are glass topped

There is a powerful microwave above the stove, a 2 basin sink along with a full size dishwasher All of the appliances are brand new or new enough to make one think they are brand new The office/dining/living room area features a high-top table and 2 tall chairs, a business area with large table top desk space, and a full size couch complete with end tables even The bedroom is a separate room with a locking door The bed is HEAVENLY, probably the best sleep I’ve had in over a decadeno_joke! The vanity is single sink where there is another door into the shower/tub and toilet areaI would absolutely recommend staying if you have the means and quality is Important I WILL be coming back

The staff, from the manager to the courtesy desk to the cleaning staff, were all amazing The hotel is clean, rooms are nice, breakfast has many options and dog park area is a great perk We had a house fire and stayed at this hotel for a few days

Only reason we changed hotels is because someone tried to steal a catalytic converter out of one of our cars The location sits back in a quiet area Even with security guard on staff they still were able to make an attempt to take the converter They damaged a flex hose, didn’t get the converter, but we felt if we returned another attempt would be made The staff, however, were just simply the best They were all friendly and helpful through the entire ordeal

I stayed at Unity Hotel on 3/18/22 for the first time because I just randomly booked a room through Choice Hotels I didn’t expect to stumble upon such a wonderful place to stay The staff were all true definitions of servant leaders focusing energy on helping those visiting

The amount of warmth and the beautiful spirits within everyone I came across was a wonderful surprise The energy within this hotel was calming and for the first time in over a week I actually slept through the night The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful and the rooms extremely clean and kept up I look forward to visiting the hotel and Unity Village in the future for a retreat Thank you all for a perfect experience!

From the gorgeous, expansive campus, to the neatly and brightly arranged rooms, to the hot complimentary breakfast, to the excellent staff, you cannot ask for a better accommodationThough a bit outside the city, it’s proximity away from the hustle and bustle is actually an alluring feature of the hotelAnd one of the best features above all is the sprawling campus and gardens outside the hotel

I dare say you’ll find a perk like this at any other hotel The nearby fountains, gardens, and nature trail were intimate and complemented the hotel perfectly Following a breakfast comprised of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and fresh lemon cucumber water, my family and I were able to explore and relish in the gardens/fountains all to ourselves I also like that the building itself operates more like a boutique than a large chain hotel Everything just seems personalized just for youI sure hope this place is able to stay open because this is the place we want to stay at whenever we pass thru KC

Daniel C

I can’t speak highly enough about Unity Hotel and its staff Check-in was easy/quick and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful I didn’t expect to find such a gem but was happy to book this spot for a short stay

Enjoyed the breakfast very much as well as the nature walk path outside Saw fireflies for the first time which was a small treat Would 100% book here again

First and foremost Beautiful hotel The staff was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable of surrounding areas

The lady that was at the front desk around 5pm on Feb 19 2022 was outstanding and we thank her for all the amazing advice she gave us about everything we asked about, thank you The room was clean and quite nice I honestly was a bit worried after reading some reviews about this hotel I had booked our room before looking at the reviews and I’m honestly glad I did that Yes the roof in one part of our room had a bit of water damage but that was the only negative we could see about this hotel It was beautifully decorated and the architecture was fascinating They have a nice little courtyard in the back that probably looks gorgeous in spring and summer The room was clean and the beds were like soft fluffy marshmallows No stains or anything that made us feel gross The shower was truly the spotlight of the room I’m a big girl and there was lots of room to move about The shower head is high, which is nice for a short person and I would guess a 6ft tall person would be able to stand under as well Water pressure was strong and felt like a massage from heaven All the staff was friendly and extremely helpful We will definitely be coming back in the future

I accidentally booked for the next day instead of the night, I was tired and had my 2 boys with me It was past 1 am I’m so thankful for Angel the receptionist/security she was so kind she updated the reservation and checked us in quickly and even gave us some water

The two lady’s serving breakfast were so so nice as well greeted me and my kids as soon as they saw us The breakfast selection was great but we did not end up eating as my kids were still half asleep, every employee at this hotel greeted us the only thing I did not like was how unclean the hallway to the rooms was and how dirty the counters/ remotes were in our room They were musty/sticky made me question how unsanitary the room actually was the furniture in the room also was dirty or damaged but being so late and us being exhausted couldn’t complain but go to sleep Great kind employees but housekeeping needs to do a way way better job

Very friendly staff + nice rooms! My bf and I booked a room via T-Mobile Tuesday app same day @ 7:30 pm, made it by 8 pm and the room was already ready! Only thing was there were strands of hair in the sink and one in the tub, the toilet holder was broken upon arrival, and the bathtub had slight drainage issues, but everything else checked out to be great! Nice + comfy beddings/pillows, amazing breakfast in the morning (LOVED the biscuits and gravy,!!) and the shower head + pressure was perfect!Just a heads up, on the weekend, there may be a lot of police sirens due to the area and nightlife that happens on the Westport, but the hotel was pretty safe and we enjoyed our 1-night stay!
